Historical Significance:

After serving as Senior Vice President of Usinor, a large French steel company, Guy Dollé headed the effort to merge three European steel companies — Usinor, Arbed (Luxembourg), and Aceralia (Spain). Arcelor became the world’s most profitable steel company and battled Mittal Steel, the world’s largest steel company, for supremacy in the global steel industry. The two merged in 2006 to create ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steel and mining company.
